Mother Nature offers the best design inspiration, so look no further than your backyard when planning your outdoor living space.  Bold colors beautifully accent blended neutral tones while countless textures tease your senses. Pulling design ideas from these earthy elements helps you create a natural looking space that complements both your home and yard. We did just that with this unique deck design.

Deck Design with Picture Frame by Chicagoland Deck Builder ArchadeckBy incorporating both wood and composite materials we were able to create a stunning multi-colored deck design.  The main deck areas are constructed with natural wood, beautifully stained to pull in accenting colors from the yard.  The surrounding border you see is a double picture frame.

Picture frames are a great way to add a unique, contrasting look to your deck as well as to help define spaces (such as seating and dining). This design used top of the line TimberTech Tigerwood low maintenance decking from their Earthwood Evolutions Legacy line.

The rails are a unique blend of composite TimberTech products. The white rail posts are from the Radiance Rail line.  Creating a stunning contrast, these posts are a durable, high-quality product that will keep their brilliant sparkling white look for years to come.  The flat-topped Walnut railings are from TimberTech’s  Evolutions Contemporary Rail line.  The flat tops offer an extra space to place a beverage and are comfortable to relax or lean against.  The walnut color combines beautifully with the black aluminum pickets and white rail posts to give this deck a rich and luxurious look.

Chicagoland Deck Design with Built-In Bench

Keeping with the color theme, the built-in benches are constructed with TimberTech’s Tigerwood decking and white Radiance Rail posts for the bench legs.  Because they can often be used in place of rails, built-in benches become a multi-use component.  A built-in bench is perfect for providing additional seating while saving space, and can also double as area for potted plants and flowers.  If you are working with limited deck space, this is certainly a design element worth considering.

Exiting right off the screen porch, the deck provides a stunning space that assists in creating a seamless transition from the house to the yard. Retaining walls finish the look, providing deep planting beds while keeping the space level as the ground slopes away from the home.  At Archadeck, we believe a good design is functional, creates smooth transitions, and beautifully compliments both the home and yard.  We were happy to bring just that to this beautiful home.
