Outdoor cooking

Outdoor living is my favorite topic any time of the year. Even today when it’s 19 degrees out! We still head outside to grill up dinner. What is more central to entertaining and relaxing then eating? In most homes the high point of any gathering is food and therefore cooking is real important. Cooking outdoors on a grill adds variety, taste, and so much interest to our meals. Personally, we grill year round outdoors and it would be great if we had an outdoor kitchen to prepare, cook, and hang out at. Then we truly could take the indoors out when ever we had company. With the addition of a heater, maybe 2 or 3 today, we could be out in the cold yet warm and cozy while we prepare dinner with our friends.

A simple outdoor kitchen design might include a good gas grill, counter space for preparation and drinks, and some storage for utensils and gear. This island creates a great location for hanging, cooking, and maybe even eating if we add some bar stools.

There are a number of things you can do with an outdoor kitchen, just let your imagination soar and design away.  In the mean time, try to keep warm, it’s not fit for man nor beast out there. Unless of course you have an outdoor kitchen set up to keep you warm and cozy.

Archadeck in the news

“We really try not to sell you the product of the moment,” Berryhill said. “We ask how you want to use it. We look at the aesthetics and material, how much maintenance you’re willing to do, and your budget.”

We made the cover of the Daily Herald Home & Garden section today! Several of our comments are quoted in the article and 2 of the 4 pictures are projects we built. Check it out.

Top 25 BBQ recipes for your outdoor grilling

Top 25 BBQ grilling recipes from About.com, featuring simple and delicious rubs and BBQ sauces, just perfect for cooking in your new Archadeck outdoor kitchen.

You know, it’s funny. After enjoying a lot good food during yesterday’s Super Bowl (Go Saints!), it occurred to me that with all this good conversation about our new Archadeck outdoor kitchens, there hasn’t been any talk at all about what to cook on them.

And that, my friends, is about to change. About.com has some incredible rubs, sauces and even slow cooker recipes that are simply awesome. For the top 25 BBQ recipes, click here.

Enjoy, Chicago! Grilling doesn’t get any better than this.

Mullen Advertising has teamed up with Twitter to bring us Brand Bowl 2010, a social media equivalent of an indoor tailgate party for those who will not be celebrating America’s favorite pastime in their outdoor living spaces this year.

The idea of watching the Super Bowl from your outdoor living space sounds like a strange idea, you may think, but it’s not.

I can custom design and build your family a 4-season sunroom that will be affordable, functional and fabulous all year long — especially for watching weekend football in comfort.

With energy-efficient wrap around windows, French doors leading to your deck or patio, and a fireplace to warm your minds and bodies on cooler days, Archadeck of Chicagoland can create the relaxation retreat of your dreams.

Superior quality and service is alive and well in Chicagoland outdoor living spaces

Testimonial: “I have had bad experiences with contractors in the past and Dave Berryhill from Archadeck was by far the best we have worked with, and he worked hard to earn our business.”

As I read the most recent news about the Toyota quality problems, it makes me so very thankful for the high standards we hold so dear here at Archadeck of Chicagoland. I love receiving letters and calls from customers after we finish their jobs.

Here’s one of my favorites.  I received this from Alan Weisz in Deerfield, Illinois.

“I have had bad experiences with contractors in the past and Dave Berryhill from Archadeck was by far the best we have worked with, and he worked hard to earn our business.”

Alan then continued by listing the five key things he most appreciated:

1. Professionalism
2. Courtesy
3. Staying informed of each step of the process
4. Exceeding his expectations by going “above and beyond”
5. Our personable demeanor

Well, Alan, back at you. You were a delight to work for, and we are so pleased with the outcome of your beautiful new screened outdoor room.
